Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a complex branch of ancient
Chinese medicine. It is based on the concept of a vital energy
called Qi (pronounced “chee”).
Qi travels along 14 main paths, called channels or meridians.
Illness or pain occurs when this energy flow is blocked or weakened.
Stimulating points along the meridian restores the balance of
energy flow in the body, helping to relieve pain and promote
wellness.
Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine,
sterile needles on the body surface to influence physiological
body functions. Studies have found that acupuncture somehow
stimulates the body’s
natural protective and pain-fighting systems. Studies have also
shown that brain activity is increased, the immune system is
boosted and pain-fighting endorphins and peptides are released.
According of thousands ancient literature of acupuncture in
China, there are hundreds points had been found on these meridians
on human body. Each point has a predictable effect upon the vital
energy passing through it. Acupuncture stimulates specific points
of the body, restores the circulation of Qi, and promotes a balanced
state of health.
